Obituary of Rosalind Taylor
Rosalind Taylor was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 21, 1951, the second of three daughters born to Dorothy Mae Guydon.
On January 21, 1967 Rosalind married the love of her life, Archie Lee Taylor. They had three children, Lolena Michelle, LeAndrew Wayne, and Nathan Gerard. Following the death of her son, Nathan, she embarked on a secular career which allowed her to continue to give of herself by counseling and teaching students with the Department of Children and Family Services and later in the public and private school sector.
Rosalind had many affectionate names, some called her Roz, Rozzy, Gran-Gran, or merely Sister Taylor. No matter how you referred to her, Rosalind was the Rock of the family, for her husband, she was a spiritual partner in service to Jehovah, for her children she was a cherished, inciteful and nurturing mother, for her only granddaughter, Rosalind was the only grandmother she ever personally knew, and laughter was their medicine, for her only grandson, Rosalind was endless memories of things she taught him, including how to swim, for her sisters, extended family, and all those who knew her, and genuinely loved her she was your best friend, a fighter always steadfast, willing to protect those she loved.
For Rosalind her biggest accomplishment was coming to know Jehovah and she and her husband were both baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 17, 1970. She spent many hours preaching and teaching others about God’s word. Rosalind’s love for Jehovah was evident in the way she lived her life and her interactions with others.
With a Louisiana heritage, Rosalind was best known for her genuine love for family, enormous hospitality, her candor, and her warm infectious smile. Rosalind had a passion for reading, gardening, traveling, shopping, creativity, and spending time with her family. Rosalind moved from Chicago, Illinois to Houston, Texas in 2004 where she enjoyed life with her daughter, grandchildren, and many wonderful friends.
Rosalind Taylor is survived by her husband, Archie Lee Taylor, her two children, Lolena Michelle Jordan (Chauncey Tyler Jordan), LeAndrew Wayne Taylor, her grandchildren, Toi Tyler Taylor Jordan, Coti Josalind Michelle Jordan, her great-grandson, Tylar Michael Christopher Jordan, her sisters, Helena Frye, Lorraine Smith (Troy Smith) Rosalind is predeceased by her son, Nathan Gerard Taylor (1989).

FAMILY CHAIN
We little knew that morning That would be the last day we could call your name. In life, we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, But we were fortunate that you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you As you could not be with us when we returned home.
You left us the most beautiful memories, Your loving example is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, We will cherish the time we had you by our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same. But when Jehovah calls those in the memorial tombs, The chain will link again.
THE FAMILY OF ROSALIND TAYLOR WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH OF YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT, EMPATHY, PHONE CALLS, AND LOVE YOU HAVE SHOWN THE FAMILY. WE APPRECIATE THE MANY ACTS OF KINDNESS, WORDS OF COMFORT, AND PRAYERS.
PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APPRECIATION AND LOVE. AND MAY JEHOVAH, THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, BLESS AND CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER YOU.
